Anushka Sharma, currently in London, has joined the growing list of celebrities praising the docu-series “Angry Young Men”. The actor shared a still from the series on her Instagram stories, writing, “So much history, but also, wisdom in this docu-series.”
“Angry Young Men” delves into the lives and professional relationship of the legendary screenplay duo, Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan. The series explores their journey through the film industry, the evolution of film business, and the intricate dynamics of screenplay writing.
Featuring special appearances by Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, Farah Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, and others, the series is directed by Namrata Rao. It is produced by Salman Khan Films, Excel Media and Entertainment, and Tiger Baby, with contributions from Salman Khan, Salma Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti.
Film critic Saibal Chatterjee describes “Angry Young Men” as “an important, absorbing, and well-composed chronicle of a movie industry and a society at the cusp, and in the midst, of a dramatic new dawn.” He further notes that at the heart of the series is the story of a friendship between two men who, upon arriving in Bombay in search of work, found each other and formed a creative partnership that transformed Mumbai cinema.
Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma shared photos from a kirtan in London, tagging the renowned kirtan artist Krishna Das in her posts. Last year, Anushka and her husband, Virat Kohli, also attended Krishna Das’ kirtan in London. The couple, who married on December 11, 2017, are parents to two children, Vamika and Akaay.
